What makes a good cue?

The Jackson Cue is a hand made product much like the old cues made twenty and thirty years ago. Like most of the finest cue manufacturers today, Jackson makes a cue with the best possible products available. Its sleek design supplies the shooter with plenty of power and not compromising a soft touch.

The wood selected for a Jackson Cue starts out at the sawmill. As maple trees are being processed there are a few choice pieces set aside. That’s when the craftsmen from Jackson arrive on the scene. They pick through the pile of the best pieces and choose the best of the best. Yes indeed!! The best of the best is what starts the making of a Jackson Cue. This top of the line birdseye maple coupled with rare and exotic woods of the world are the foundation of a Jackson Cue.

One of the most exciting new discoveries is our new joint. This joint can be made from multi-polymer thermoplastic or stainless steel for the same price. The joint pin has a shoulder at the base of the pin. This shoulder settles into a matched machined sleeve in the shaft. During the last few turns of tightening the shaft to the butt, the collar aligns the shaft perfectly just before the cue becomes locked down tight. This is done so uniformly that you can order a shaft over the phone without sending your cue to the factory.

The joint and butt plates are made from a MP Thermoplastic material that comes ivory in color. This material is a high impact chip resistant product that can be buffed to a high shine. In the next paragraph you’ll learn why that high buffed shine is so important.

The finish is a durable epoxy resin that is hand rubbed on in several steps. This process is the most tedious and exacting method of protecting a cue stick, making it chip resistant and has proved to hold up extremely well. Our finish stops where the wood meets the joint and butt plate. The joint and butt plates are then buffed to a high quality shine leaving an uncoated finished part that will shine indefinitely.

All Jackson cue sticks are wrapped with the highest quality leather and Irish linens on the market. Sorry no Nylon wraps. We tip with le-pro and its ready to go.

That’s not all the Jackson Cue Co. Offers. We provide a B.C.A. instructor for demonstrations and lessons to adult and junior groups statewide. We sponsor many tournaments for the average player and team. We are a full service cue manufacturer and would like to show you what we have to offer.
